Обзор Apple News – что это за новый сервис

В новых beta-версиях iOS 9 и OS X мы увидели приложение Apple News. Для нашей страны оно локализовано, но бесполезно в силу отсутствия российского контента. Тем не менее, оценить интерфейс можно уже сейчас.

Включаем Apple News:
Настройки > Основные > Язык и регион > Регион > Соединенные Штаты Америки

После перезагрузки приложение появится на домашнем экране.

При первом запуске нам предлагают выбрать новостные источники и получать новости по e-mail. Я остановился на CNN и The New York Times.

Переходим в приложение и видим 5 разделов Apple News:

Лента новостей находится здесь. Все стандартно: заголовки, вводная часть, дата и время публикации, авторы, фотографии и название источника. Издания могут регулировать отображение некоторых данных, к примеру, не показывать имя автора.

Интуитивно и удобно.

Избранное

Здесь находится список источников, на которые подписан пользователь. Ничего интересного в этом разделе нет: можно перейти к ресурсу или отписаться от него. По умолчанию читатель подписан на Apple News Selections, на этом канале можно найти рекомендуемые новости от редакторов Apple.

Просмотр

В этом разделе читатель найдет персональные рекомендации: по мере чтения Apple News узнáет, что нравится хозяину, и начнет предлагать соответствующий контент. Как Apple Music.

Раздел «Просмотр» выполняет функцию новостного браузера: здесь можно найти популярные каналы, актуальные темы, а также перейти к определенным категориям: технология, наука, политика, спорт и другое.

Во вкладке «История» представлен список последних открытых материалов. Тут без интернета никак, их нужно подгружать заново.

Оформление

Apple сбавила свой консервативный пыл. Никаких фиксированных шрифтов и правил. Каждый ресурс выбирает стиль оформления сам. В статье The Verge мне даже попалась встроенная реклама от Google.

Видеоролики, твитты, слайды, визуальные эффекты – перечислять можно долго, и этот подход мне нравится. Новости получаются живыми и интересными.

У Apple News хорошие перспективы. Место бестолкового приложения «Киоск» наконец займет удобный и функциональный агрегатор новостей, который однозначно найдет своих читателей. Издатели получили широкие возможности кастомизации собственных каналов, но в сотрудничестве с Apple возникли некоторые нюансы.

Интерфейс приложения перевели на русский не просто так. Есть большая вероятность, что в нашей стране сервис появится осенью, вместе с официальным выходом iOS 9. Ждем.

Кошмар Apple перед Рождеством: производство iPhone остановлено впервые более чем за десять лет

Обычно на этой неделе производство продукции Apple выходит на сверхурочный график

По данным Nikkei, сборочная линия по производству iPhone была остановлена впервые более чем за десять лет. Сборка iPhone и iPad «остановлена на несколько дней из-за ограничений цепочки поставок и ограничений на использование электроэнергии в Китае», как утверждают сразу несколько источников, знакомых с ситуацией.

Nikkei пишет, что обычно на этой неделе производство продукции Apple выходит на сверхурочный график, чтобы удовлетворить глобальный спрос в сезон праздничных покупок, но вместо дополнительных смен и 24-часового графика производства рабочие получили свободное время.

Один из менеджеров в цепочке поставок рассказал Nikkei: «Из-за ограниченного количества компонентов и микросхем не имело смысла работать сверхурочно в праздничные дни и доплачивать работникам. Подобного никогда не было раньше. Этот период всегда был самым оживлённым временем, когда все сборщики наращивали производство».

Apple уже сократила свои прогнозы по производству iPhone 13 в октябре. В ноябре Apple пришлось снизить производство iPad, чтобы сохранить производство iPhone 13, и этого было недостаточно, чтобы предотвратить остановку производства. Первоначальной целью Apple было выпустить 95 миллионов смартфонов iPhone 13 в 2021 году, но в начале декабря прогноз снизили до 83–85 миллионов.

По данным Nikkei, производство моделей iPhone 13 в сентябре и октябре оказалась на 20% меньше установленного плана. Между тем производство iPad достигло лишь 50% от ожидаемого объёма за тот же период времени. Производство старых iPhone упало на 25%, и с наступлением ноября ситуация не стала лучше.

Как пишет Nikkei, проблемы вызваны множеством причин, включая меры блокировки в Малайзии и Вьетнаме, неожиданные ограничения мощности в Китае, дефицит, узкие места в производстве, увеличение сроков поставки компонентов и многое другое.
